Orchard Montessori
Early Childhood Education in Fremantle & Maddington
Our Philosophy
Orchard Montessori seeks to enable students to realize their full potential, as life-long scholars and as responsible citizens of their community, by introducing dynamic learning experiences with the highest quality of care in accordance with the Montessori principles.
Education at Orchard Montessori is based on the principles developed by Maria Montessori. At the heart of this approach is the belief that children will reach their potential by having the freedom to learn in a classroom specially prepared for exploring under the careful guidance of trained teaching educators. We endeavour to achieve this by providing a highly constructive environment where our families, children and staff combined are welcomed and are valued within the centre and community.
Montessori believes that play is the work of the child. It is through working / playing with the materials as often and for as long as the child needs that true knowledge is obtained. In the outdoor environment the children have access to a variety of toys and equipment to enhance their imaginative and physical development. This enables them to engage in social play with groups of children and gain knowledge of building relationships, turn taking and social etiquette whilst having fun.
Our Values
We, as a family unit value diversity and do not discriminate based on nationality, ethnic origin, race, gender, or religion. Our goal is to help our students to become healthy, self-confident, aware individuals who are excited by learning and have a great thirst for knowledge.
Orchard Montessori is committed to combining the Montessori method with the Early Years Leaning Framework (EYLF), Belonging, Being and Becoming. We are dedicated to improving all standards set out in the National Quality Standards for the stakeholders of the centre through the implementation of our Quality Improvement Plan.
“The human being is a united whole, but this unity has to be built up and formed by active experiences in the real world, to which it is led by the laws of nature.”

Testimonials
What our parents think of us.
My daughter has been attending Orchard Montessori for a year and it has been a tough transition going from having aupairs to 4 days in childcare. But Mia and her team are amazing and have handled it so well. My daughter doesn’t like drop offs but always has an incredible day and is so happy when I pick her up.
They’re sweet, kind and because it’s such a small day care the kiddies get so much attention. I also love the Montessori method, my daughter comes home and puts her own shoes away, cleans up her toys and dishes without being asked to! Highly recommend.
If I could give this place 100 stars I would, we have recently switched to Orchard Montessori from another centre and my kids behaviour has changed instantly, they are so happy here and look forward to going, the teachers are amazing and I always see them getting involved with kids, the warmth is really felt here and I’m so glad we decided to move the kids.
My son absolutely loves it here and has done from the start. He’s become more independent, capable and confident with each term. The educators are warm and have a lovely gentle way with the kids. We are all very happy.
I put my son Logan into Orchard Montessori as a family friend had sent both her daughters there. I was also familiar with the centre and it was always calm and peaceful when I attended which drew me even more to the centre. My son was 2 years old when he started and was not used to being away from me so the educators were great at helping him through the transition and within a month he was fully settled. He loved going 3 days per week and the centre were very flexible doing extra days when I needed as my husband was FIFO for some time. Logan loved Marina and had a great connection with her early on, drop offs were never an issue any morning and the centre was always calm and inviting.
My 2yr old son feels happy and secure at this daycare and has picked up so many new skills from all of the activities on offer. One day he will have baked bread with his friends, the next he will have learnt the continents of the world. The playground is brand new with a wide range of equipment and a vegetable patch. I was very nervous about my son starting daycare, but the staff went out of their way to welcome my son and make me feel reassured.
The owner of the daycare is on site most days and is always there to greet everyone, which I feel is an added bonus. Overall the centre is very professionally run and I encourage you to check it out for yourself.
